Hi! And how are you all? It’s already December and I can’t believe it. 2014 is almost gone! How time flies!! From a training perspective, December will be a busy month for me but its okay as I will be going off on a long holiday in January. Just can’t wait for that. On the Arsenal front, as I have repeatedly said, Arsene Wenger has to go if Arsenal is to win trophies. It’s sad but we must be ruthless to know that in management past performance counts for nothing. It’s the present and the future that is more important. He has given many good moments to the club, but now sadly in my opinion, it is time to go.
In the past two weeks I have received two videos on my whatsapp i.e. the one on the use of a mop to clean the food preparation area in a restaurant in Kuala Lumpur and the other of a rat eating the food at a café in an airport in India (it has been alleged that the video is a fake). In both cases the videos went viral and I am sure that the business at both outlets must have been very, very badly hit, as both were food outlets.
The fact that most people are walking around today with a video camera in their hands is both a boon and a bane. On the positive side, this means a watchful society that can record anything that is wrong or criminal in nature. On the negative side though, it means all of us are in a sense being watched every day and any of our actions in public are liable to be recorded. Can you imagine if a prominent public figure (let’s say it is an actor or a politician) were to go quietly to the side of a room and pick his nose, and this action is recorded by somebody. I am sure all hell will then break loose as the video goes viral! What he did however is what every one of us discreetly do every once in a while. The only difference is that he is a public figure and he was recorded doing it. The consequences for him will most certainly be very, very negative. Sad but true and a reflection of life today.
Hence a piece of advice and that is to be very, very careful about what you and your business do in public. You are being ‘watched’.
Thanks so much for reading this newsletter and I do hope you will all have a great month in December. Take care.
